A Bad Case of the Mondays!

Hello to everyone,

I think it’s going to be a beautiful day outside! I’m hoping I’ll have time to get outside and go for a little stroll, maybe during lunch?  Today I’m having a bad case of the Mondays! I’m sure I’m not alone in my dislike for Monday mornings.  I got up got going and to really get myself moving I had some fresh oranges for breakfast, it never ceases to amaze me what an orange can do to perk up the senses.  I had some errands to run before I made my way to GVC, I really couldn’t understand why the post office wasn’t open?  After standing by the door for a few minutes I remembered it was Presidents Day!  Sorry, United States Postal Services… I didn’t get the memo!

My tip for the day, when you are starting to feel that mid day crash, and you want to reach for a sugary treat, reach for some fresh fruit instead!  Fruits have natural sugars that will help you satisfy your sweet tooth! Grab a Apple, Orange, Banana,Grapefruit,Grapes, Kiwi, etc. If you have time make yourself a smoothie and take it with you!  Most of the ingredients you would need for a great smoothie can be purchased on campus, Lowfat yogurt, honey, oats, BFF fruits… we may be onto something here!  I’m no magician by any means, but the addition of fruit may just help get through a bad case of the Mondays!

  1. Is there anywhere on campus that carries plain yogurt for making smoothies… I know chobani makes a plain greek which is awesome but I don’t like I have seen it anywhere

  2. Hi Nate,
I’ll have to talk with our C-Store Managers and see what they have. I know they have yoplait, and chobani yogurts, but I’m not sure if vanilla is part of the flavor selection. Look for a response soon!

  3. Hi Nate,
After speaking with Crystal, our manager of Greenwood Avenue Market, she has confirmed with me she is selling single serving cups of Chobani Vanilla Greek Yogurt. It is located in the Grab and Go coolers near the counter. You could also find various flavors of single serve yogurts aswell. I think you can also find Chobani yogurts in the Pioneer Perk, Hickory and Main & Kristine’s Kafe. Hope this helps you build an awesome smoothie!

    • Cool thanks so much I will keep my eye out for the plain cobani Greek yogurt as it doesn’t have the sugars as many others but is still loaded with protein and creamy goodness
